hoy! pinoy ako! buo aking loob.. yeah!
this one is absolutely my thing!.. actually, tagal na nito pero ngayon ko lang naisipang i-share. This is a website intended for every true-blue-Pinoy-fanatics. I, myself, is sooo proud to be PINOY.. the blood that runs through my veins shows that I will always be happy that i beLong in this heritage. In this site, I had the chance to express my being Filipino in a positive way along with my fellow countrymen.. Sounds like "makabayan" di ba? But as I read all the testimonials of every Yabang Pinoy, I can't help but be overwhelmed and amazed at how these people truly appreciate their race.. This is an eye-opener for me that despite all the controversies and challenges Filipinos are facing, they stand still and continue moving forward to reach the realization of their dreams..I am also like that! That's why I can boastfully say that I also beLong in this YABANG PINOY community.. :)
ok, you might say "dugh, after all these economic breakdown we're experiencing, you're still proud to be one?!".. actually, natanong na rin sa akin ng prof ko yan dati nung ginawa kong topic sa speech ko yung pagiging "proud pinoy," hindi ko raw ba naisip yung mga nagbabadyang panibagong edsa revolution, yun nga how the economy sucks.. but, i know all of that, i am totally aware kasi nga hangga't may pagkakataon ako eh nanonood naman talaga ako ng mga balita, nagbabasa ng diyaryo and i truly involve myself to whatever na nangyayari dito sa bansa.. still, i can proudly say i love being pinoy, every single bit of my race, i appreciate it! why? dahiL ang kabataang pinoy ang isa sa mga pinakamagagaling sa mundo, pinaka-astig and well, the best! :)
may i list down the negativity i notice or i observed here in the country?
• abusado people - yes, marami nito sa atin.. but tayo bilang mga responsable at matalinong pilipino, mang-aabuso rin ba tayo?
• the damned government - alright, hindi lang ang gobyerno natin ang damned.. mas marami pa!
• corrupt officials, and a bit in US - lahat naman halos ng pilipino corrupt eh, i'm guiLty!! hindi lang sa pera, pati sa oras ng pagpasok sa office AT yung productivity ng oras natin bilang mga empleyado.. anybody's guilty!
• crab mentality - as in.. ako talaga may pagka-talangka talaga utak ko paminsan-minsan and i know it's bad! why can't we be just happy enough sa success ng ibang tao di ba? pero isa yan sa mga unique characteristics ng mga pinoy! tsk..tsk
• that famous FILIPINO time! - haha, i'm sooo gulity of that! grabe.. enough said, almost everyone's guilty!
.. and still many more!!
how about our pride of being a true-blue-PINOY?
• our close family ties - sobra.. pag sinabing pinoy, pamiLya ang priority ng bawat isa. Kaya nga minsan nagagawa ng mga pinoy yung negativity mentioned above is because of our strong love towards our family.. we celebrate the reunion of the family every holidays and everyday ang celebration with soo much food, warmth, and love! Kaya nga wala pa ring makakatalo sa Pasko sa Pinas eh!
• pagiging magalang - we are! i have so many experiences na nagpapatunay na kahit sino pang pinaka-garapal na pinoy may itinatago pa ring paggalang to a certain people or thing. our neighbor countries can't practice this kind of values eh pero tayo maaga pa lang pina-practice na natin kaya as we grow older, everything's becoming alright..
• our loving spirit - "ibang magmahal ang pinoy" as the goldilocks tagline goes.. agree? i am definiteLy! :) kasi ginagawa natin ang maraming bagay mapasaya lang yung mga taong mahal natin kasi baduy mang pakinggan, sila yung kaligayahan natin :) kaya buhos na buhos tayo sa pagmamahaL.. hehe! funny but true!
• resiliency - such a strong word, na bagay na bagay naman sa ating pagiging pinoy.. ako i truly believe na Filipinos are among the most resilient and strongest people in the world. Patunay diyan ang ating mga makabagong bayani o OFW's na nagpapakahirap sa ibang bansa, all in the name of love for our family and the drive to succeed in life, and reach the highest of our ambitions.. diyan, for me, pinaka-astig ang pinoy!
• hospitality - we practice that in our home.. pride ng bansa natin yan!
• underground river - our official entry to the NEW 7 WONDERS OF NATURE and no. 1 in rank all over the world, although wala pang finality pero sana makapasok. :)
• my province, PALAWAN! - the serenity and peacefulness of this place will always be no. 1 in the hearts of every Palaweño
• the likes of henry sy, lucio tan, john gokongwei - ok, hindi man natin sila kilala sa personal pero yung na-contribute nila dito sa bansa natin, nakakatuwa at nakaka-inspire na gayahin.. the way they excell in their endeavor, grabe! yun lang ang masasabi ko, grabe! :)
• gma-7.. ok, abscbn - nakaka-proud din naman talaga yung contribution nila sa bansa natin, di ba? not to mention the awards they are reaping at ang patuloy na pagkilala ng ibang bansa sa napakaraming talents dito sa atin.. hindi matatawaran yun! i'm a fan of television, at nakakatuwa na yung continued search nila for excellence ay dun pa din.. ang galing! basta.. :)
• the likes of lea salonga, charice, arnel pineda, apl de ap, vanessa hudgens, nicole (pussycat dolls)- .. and manny more!
• manny pacquiao - need i say more?!
.. at maraming-marami pa ring iba!
my point? Iba-iba ang weaknesses and strengths natin but it all boils down to the fact that we fiLipinos are good or best in our chosen field because we give our hearts in everything we do.. we fail, we got lost, but we are standing.. we face everything that's thrown upon us. This entry of mine may be one sided but let me borrow a line or two from Sarah Geronimo's character:
" magtiwala na lang kasi tayo sa goodness!" :) because in the heart of many fiLipinos, marami tayo niyan!

trivia trivia!!
ang sagisag ng bansa natin or the LOGO, ito ang kahulugan: promise, trivia talaga to! i read it from Grade 6 HEKASI book :)
ang lion daw sa right side symbolizes the influence of Spain to our country.. ang tagal nating naging bihag ng mga espanyol di ba? then yung nakabukang agila naman daw symbolizes the influence of US to us. Yung araw naman simbolo ng hangarin nating maging malaya, ang tatlong bituin, of course ay ang Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao ( yun lang yung alam ko! :p ) at ang salitang "Republika ng Pilipinas" ay nangangahulugang ang bansang Pilipinas ay mayroong kalayaan at soberanya o kapangyarihan na iginagalang ng ibang bansa.
sana may natutunan tayo sa mga trivia na ito.. :) so that when we see the seal, we'll be prouder and happy that after all these years, we are now free, sovereign, at iginagalang din ng ibang bansa..
