in these trying times, we shouldn't quit trying.

believe

BAGYONG ONDOY...

this has been so far the worst typhoon/storm i've ever witnessed on tv! my heart goes to helpless filipino people who don't know what to do anymore because of this tragedy that hit thousands of people in manila and nearby provinces. i can't really explain how and what to feel seeing people's dead body, ruined homes and lives - either ordinary or celebrity persons. really, when nature strike, no one is exempted.

but after all these things, we can see the "bayanihan" spirit of the filipinos. tulong-tulong talaga lahat at yan ang isa sa maipagmamalaki ko bilang isang pilipino. lahat ay nakiki-isa, nakiki-panalangin, nakiki-tulong... nakaka-proud how big hearted filipinos are. in these trying times, we can really know whom to go to and whom to trust and give our hopes to. we are just watching tv since yesterday so that we will be updated to whatever's happening in our country and i'm thankful of that! plus the wonders of technology. i really wanna say thank you to twitter because since September 26, i've been updated.

a BIG THANK YOU to all the people out there who leave the comforts of their home just to extend their help.. and to the bloggers who keeps on updating their blogs about typhoon ondoy especially to SAAB MAGALONA (thank you sa mga photo updates) and SUPERBIANCA (thank you sa location donation updates). GOD bless your souls! plus to the thousand others who keeps on donating, tweeting information, and PRAYING for the victims.

for additional donation information (to those who wanted to donate): click on this gmanewsdottv compilation HERE and bianca gonzalez's compilation here.

the least but the BEST thing i can do and you too at this moment is to PRAY. i will continue praying especially in rebuilding the ruined lives and homes of the victims because of this catastrophic event. this is my little contribution in this trying time and my showing of concern to the victims. i thank you all again.

ps: the photos anyway are from SAAB MAGALONA's tumbLr. thank you, saab!

and for now, let's all pause for a moment of prayer..

"Lord, I know you saw all of these mishaps in the lives of our countrymen and You have a plan. Please unveil these things to us especially to all the victims, graciously. We trust in You. KAILANGAN PO NILA KAYO. Thank You. I Love You. Amen."

SUPREME!

An excerpt from Pepe Diokno's article in the Philippine Star.

...

Supreme presents its annual list of '22 under 22'
PEPE DON'T PREACH By Pepe Diokno (The Philippine Star) Updated September 26, 2009 12:00 AM

"I mean, there’s a fascination with youth, yes. And with technology and the barrage of media creation, any pretty face or wannabe VJ can make a name for himself. But I’ve often wondered whether people are as fascinated by achievements as they are about age. Certainly, I hope that Filipinos talked about me and my film because of the recognition it brought to the country. I hope that a 17-year-old pop star is never as important as a 50-year-old next president. Age is, after all, just a number — it is only what one does that has permanence.

So for this list, compiled by Supreme’s staff of experts, the questions come up: Why the age limit? Did we choose these people for their age — for the thrill, wonder, and readership potential of being young and hot? Or did we choose these people for their achievements — for their impact on their communities and the environment around them?

The answer I propose is bold: I think that if you look at our society today, all the movement, change, and hope you’ll see is in our youth. Kids make up nearly half of our population. There is a supreme force of new blood waiting to start gushing — as I am, itching to do what we believe we can do. See, the future is here, now, on this list. It’s nowhere but in our high schools, colleges, and tambayans.

Stay supreme!"

...

I got this from Philippine Star and I've been tremendously inspired :) I also wanna be SUPREME and I really think I can be one! How about you?

Here's mine, enjoy!

Achievements is…

Waking up everyday with a smile on my face, excited to face the world and doing the things I love the most with the people I love being with.

The best advice I’ve ever been given:

RESPECT yourself and everything else will follow and just don't over-exaggerate everything about your life because it's annoying to a lot of people.

A piece of advice I’d rather forget:

"Hanggang diyan ka na lang." "Wala naman nang pag-asa bakit ka pa boboto?" - I beg to disagree. I dare to dream and plan to make that dream come true. I know I won't and can't settle for anything less. PAG-ASA is in the hands of us, kabataan, we must use our strength and assets for our country to move on.

The biggest challenge you’ve had to hurdle to get to where you are:

Myself, my being shy and being afraid to take risks, to ask questions, and being afraid to my unknown future.

Your biggest goal:

To have my dream job and satisfying myself with it everyday. AND the biggest goal I realized today that I want is having my own beautiful family in the future. :)

Have you registered to vote? Why or why not? And who do you plan to vote for?

I haven't registered yet but I will register on my birthday month. I believe it's a simple, little act I can do for the betterment of my country and it's our responsibility as a concerned citizen! I will definitely vote for CHIZ ESCUDERO because I believe in his ideals and aspirations for the country.

Feel free to be SUPREME! :)

LEARNED LIFE LESSONS.

1. Life isn’t fair, but it’s still good.
2. When in doubt, just take the next small step.
3. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone.
4. Your job won’t take care of you when you are sick. Your friends and parents will. Stay in touch!
5. Pay off your credit cards every month.
6. You don’t have to win every argument. Agree to disagree.
7. Cry with someone. It’s more healing than crying alone.
8. It’s OK to get angry with God. He can take it.
9. Save for retirement starting with your first paycheck.
10. When it comes to chocolate, resistance is futile.
11. Make peace with your past so it won’t screw up the present.
12. It’s OK to let your children see you cry.
13. Don’t compare your life to others. You have no idea what their journey is all about.
14. If a relationship has to be a secret, you shouldn’t be in it.
15. Everything can change in the blink of an eye. But don’t worry; God never blinks.
16. Take a deep breath. It calms the mind.
17. Get rid of anything that isn’t useful, beautiful or joyful.
18. Whatever doesn’t kill you really does make you stronger.
19. It’s never too late to have a happy childhood. But the second one is up to you and no one else.
20. When it comes to going after what you love in life, don’t take no for an answer.
21. Burn the candles, use the nice sheets, wear the fancy lingerie. Don’t save it for a special occasion. Today is special..
22. Over prepare, then go with the flow.
23. Be eccentric now. Don’t wait for old age to wear purple.
24. The most important sex organ is the brain.
25. No one is in charge of your happiness but you.
26. Frame every so-called disaster with these words ‘In five years, will this matter?’
27. Always choose life.
28. Forgive everyone everything.
29. What other people think of you is none of your business.
30. Time heals almost everything. Give time time.
31. However good or bad a situation is, it will change.
32. Don’t take yourself so seriously. No one else does.
33. Believe in miracles.
34. God loves you because of who God is, not because of anything you did or didn’t do.
35. Don’t audit life. Show up and make the most of it now.
36. Growing old beats the alternative — dying young.
37. Your children get only one childhood.
38. All that truly matters in the end is that you loved.
39. Get outside every day. Miracles are waiting everywhere.
40. If we all threw our problems in a pile and saw everyone else’s,we’d grab ours back.
41. Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need.
42. The best is yet to come.
43. No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up.
44. Yield.
