Do you have any guilty pleasures? Me, a LOT! :)

Case Number 1:

Opening JustJared, see what's the latest Hollywood news and paparazzi shots, click straight to the tagged entries of my latest obsession then download whatever fabulous pictures I see. It is really my passion and just seeing their pictures wearing so many beautiful clothes (especially if it's in the red carpet in award shows like Grammy, Oscars, Emmy, People's Choice, Etc.) Gosh! My eyes are wide with envy for all the glamorous clothes I see them wear! It is actually my dream (a lot of girls, too, for sure) to someday wear something as fab as that. It's my habit to download these pictures of my favourite actors/actresses so that if I'll have the opportunity in the future to dress up, I can have loads of fashion inspiration. Just looking at them gives me such a happy feeling because all things pretty is always a pleasure to see. :)

REUNIONS and BONDINGS with all the friends I've missed! :) :) :)
(late, late photo post here but matagal na 'to sa tumbLr ko) :p

I started my month of love (February 1) organizing reunion dinner for my College DMA friends/former classmates. We had loads of fun for that night! So much laughter, chika's, food trip, so many "remember when...", and talks about our current status in life (work, pinagkakakitaan, at pinagkaka-abalahan) :p

It was a cute and wondeful night although hindi kami nabuo pero andun pa rin yung bonding at kung paano kami naghiwa-hiwalay 3 years ago, walang pinagbago on how we treat each other. Nakakatuwa kasi sobra lang low profile ng mga classmates ko. :) And I am somehow proud sa kung ano yung mga narating at naabot ng bawat isa. :) Slowly but surely to success.

Yay! Looking forward to more dinner bonding with them! :)

Also that week, me and my friends shared chika bonding after such a long time. I think the last time was a month ago? We were all beyond happy being together again although we're not complete that time. Bilang mabababaw lang naman talaga kaligayahan namin. :) Konting joke lang, sobrang laugh trip na agad. Ang cute lang kasi it's been so long na din naman since I laughed so hard, so genuine and so contagious. :)

Joyride a little then I saw the Robinsons billboards all over the place and it made my jaw dropped kasi ang laki ng magiging Robinsons sa Palawan! Yay! Excited ako sa Robinsons cinema. FINALLY!

PS: I loooove my hair! I love my bangs! :) :) I wanna color it nga eh. Hahaaa! VAIN! :)

This photo is from a wedding I attended also this month. Will blog about it in a separate entry.

Fun, fun reunions! Thank You, Lord, for all my friends! :)

Be The Light!

Perhaps you work in a setting where God is not acknowledged, faith is mocked, and godless living is applauded. Maybe you feel that you are going into a "very dark place".
Why not be a light (Ephesians 5:8) through your smiles, kind words and deeds, and diligent work. Ask God to bring opportunities to share the good news of Jesus Christ. You may be the only light a co-worker sees today.

God put us in this darkened world
To shine as sons of light;
So, help us, Lord, to spread Your word
And keep our witness bright

I saw this in Our Daily Bread and I felt God talking to me directly. I really, really hope I am being light to where I am right now.. I hope I always bring glory to His name by being morally upright, always graceful, and always responsible in everything I do, whether at work or at my personal life.. I really hope and pray so because as a Christian, I believe it is our ultimate goal in life - glorifying God in all the things we do.

Another prayer from Our Daily Bread:

Help me, Lord, to make and to keep
right priorities. T o put You and time with You first.
Give me discernment and the willingness
to obey You today. Amen.

We were created to glorify God so let's not fail Him!
(A reminder that I have to really keep close to my heart always.)

Hey February!! :)

I’ve found that

the best compliments are the ones given at the worst times. You know, when someone calls you beautiful when you look your worst? Or when someone tells you how cute you are, when all you’re doing is sitting there. When you receive compliments when they’re least expected and least instigated- those are the most beautiful, pure, real compliments that a person could possibly receive.

Take those ones to heart.

I really, really feel this one. Don't you? :)

Snake Overview
If last year was a bit wild for you, things might calm down a bit in the Year of the Metal Rabbit. Your sign's element is Fire, which has a harmful influence on the Metal year element -- make sure you plot your course carefully. Even though your favorability for the year is only 65%, almost all your months will be favorable. Your determination and perseverance might need a tune-up. Are there ways you can boost your motivation? Give yourself a daily dose of self-confidence with words of affirmation. There's room for you to accomplish great things.

True! So last year was REALLY wild. O_o Haha! But that was last year, this year will be more calm and full of musings about life. :) I'll blog separately of what I feel like I'm so much of a better person right now unlike last year. :) Naks! :p

And I'm also gonna blog about my college classmates reunion na sobrang saya!! :) :) Naunahan lang kasi ako ng cortisone eh! :p Kaya napa-nega akong bigla. :))

Anyway, after a month, I can say na this year's gonna be my year. Yes naman. I'm claiming that. This year's gonna be full of changes and I am ready to embrace them all. :) This year's the start and I can't wait to start working on my dreams.

Skin Asthma

For most, asthma in the skin may be a condition they have never heard of. It is actually a form of atopic dermatitis, also known as eczema. Atopic refers to a predisposition to being overly sensitive to allergens, as you would be with asthma; and dermatitis is an inflammation of the skin. Eczema or asthma in the skin is a chronic condition that tends to effect those who are already predisposed to allergies and/or asthma.

Prevention
Preventing flare-ups before they become extreme is key. The most important thing eczema sufferers can do is to moisturize two to three times daily. Aquafor is highly recommended, because it acts as a a barrier between you and irritants. Another type of prevention is to boost your immune system. Because eczema is an auto immune disease, taking a daily multivitamin is extremely important. Also, be sure to add allergy-fighter quercetin, omega-3 fatty acids and vitamin B complex to your daily regiment. These powerful supplements are known for their anti-inflammatory powers and will do wonders for your skin.

Treatment
Though there is no cure for eczema, there are many treatments. Your doctor or dermatologist will likely prescribe cortisone creams. These will help heal any flare-ups, but be aware that long-term use of steroid creams can have long-term side effects, including the thinning of skin. If you are concerned about this, ask your doctor for a nonsteroid cream, such as Elidel. In extreme cases, an oral steroid, such as Prednisone may be prescribed, or in some cases cortisone injections may be administered. Be aware that both of these can do a lot of harm when used over long periods of time. Another option that some chronic sufferers use is UV (ultraviolet) light therapy. Used at a precise power, the benefits to sufferers has been great.

Tips
If scratching at night is a problem, wear socks on your hands to bed. Remove stress where possible. Practice meditation, yoga or tai chi. Keep showers short and temps warm, not hot.

Warnings
Do not use steroid creams, pills or injections for long periods of time. Also, do not scratch if you itch. Scratching your eczema will delay the healing and can cause infection. An antihistamine may be required to help control the urge.

What is cortisone?
Cortisone is a type of steroid that is produced naturally by a gland in your body called the adrenal gland. Cortisone is released from the adrenal gland when your body is under stress. Natural cortisone is released into the blood stream and is relatively short-acting.

How does the cortisone injection help?
Cortisone is a powerful anti-inflammatory medication. Cortisone is not a pain relieving medication, it only treats the inflammation. When pain is decreased from cortisone it is because the inflammation is diminished. By injecting the cortisone into a particular area of inflammation, very high concentrations of the medication can be given while keeping potential side-effects to a minimum. Cortisone injections usually work within a few days, and the effects can last up to several weeks.

Does the cortisone injection hurt?
The shot can be slightly painful, especially when given into a joint, but in skilled hands it usually is well tolerated. Often the cortisone injection can be performed with a very small needle that causes little discomfort. However, sometimes a slightly larger needle must be used, especially if your physician is attempting to removed fluid through the needle prior to injecting the cortisone. Numbing medication, such as Lidocaine or Marcaine, is often injected with the cortisone to provide temporary relief of the affected area. Also, topical anesthetics can help numb the skin in an area being injected.

Are there side effects?
Yes. Probably the most common side-effect is a 'cortisone flare,' a condition where the injected cortisone crystallizes and can cause a brief period of pain worse than before the shot. This usually lasts a day or two and is best treated by icing the injected area. Another common side-effect is whitening of the skin where the injection is given. This is only a concern in people with darker skin, and is not harmful, but patients should be aware of this.

...

Ohmygosh I am going to die next week!!!!!!! :'(

I'm exaggerating I know but really, I felt like dying. :'(

I don't like injections! I don't like body pains! My derma she will inject me some cortisone next week and I don't like it. I'm afraid. :'(

Oh gosh, I hope it won't push through. Please.

The Truth About Forever

I read this book in recommendation of Saab's and I spent my night reading this and I love the story. I can totally relate to the main character, Macy, in terms of being so scared of everything that she wanted to do. Though I can't totally relate with the loss, I can feel her. Yes, just like what Saab said, it's an emotional yet funny read. I also love the love angle. :)

I like this passage from the book:

That was the thing. You just never knew. Forever was so many different things. It was always changing, it was what eveything was really all about. It was twenty minutes, or a hundred years, or just this instant, or any instant I wished would last and last. But there was only one truth about forever that really mattered, and that was this; it was happening. Right then, as I ran with Wes into that bright sun, and every moment afterwards. Look, there. Now. Now. Now.

I love these genre of books, you know, young adult fiction cuz you can learn so much from it. And yes, reading is so empowering and words are powerful so it is my goal that this 2011, I'm gonna stuff my brain from books.

PLUS! I wanna have this book!! Oh my gosh kaya lang it's so mahal.. :p I wanna order online BUT it's almost 27 dollars. Bilang sobrang fan ako ni Harry Potter. :p

I REALLY WANNA BUY IT!
